AI Consultant for Small Business

AI advice sized for a small firm

An AI consultant for small business gives advice sized to a firm with a handful of staff, not a company ten times larger. I look at the work your people do each week, pick one project worth doing and write its scope before anything is bought.

AI for Small Business

What I do for a small firm

A small firm has no team to absorb a failed project, so the advice has to be smaller, cheaper to test and easy to undo. The work has six parts.

Week review

I walk through the week with the owner and list the tasks done by hand, who does them and how long they take.

Short candidate list

Three to five candidate projects, each small enough to finish without a new hire.

Tool check

The tools you already pay for, checked first, before any new subscription is suggested.

One project scope

The project written with its steps, the person who owns it and the measure that shows it worked.

Undo plan

The way the change is reversed if it does not help, written before the change starts.

Check-in date

A review date on the calendar, when the owner decides to keep, change or stop the project.

Why Small Firms Get Oversold

Advice written for a company ten times larger

Owners of small firms often hear AI advice built for companies with departments, data teams and budgets for a year of pilots. The plan calls for a platform, a governance board and a training program, and the owner is left with a bill and no clear first step.

A small firm needs the opposite: one task, one owner, one measure and a way back if it fails. Advice that starts with the big plan is written for someone else's business.

What Small Firms Should Automate First

The task that repeats every day

The first project is usually a repeated task the owner already knows well: a lead that needs to be filed, a reminder that goes out late, a report that takes an afternoon. These tasks are easy to check, easy to undo and clearly worth the time they save.

Small Firm Options Compared

How the choices stack up

The table compares the choices a small firm usually faces. The last column is the one I weigh most, because it sets how fast a project can be undone.
ChoiceWhat it asks of the ownerTypical first stepHow easy to undo
Enterprise platformA budget, a committee and a long rolloutA vendor demo the team cannot runHard once the contract is signed
Single workflow toolOne owner and one task listA short scope for one repeated taskEasy to pause and remove
Tool you already pay forTime to learn features you have not usedA check of what the current plan includesEasy, since nothing new is bought
Outside contractor buildTrust in a build you cannot yet readA scope with a written handoverDepends on who owns the code
Do nothing yetNothing new, and the same manual workA dated review of the candidate listAlways easy

Work I built, labeled for what it was

Each card says what the work was. GIOSTAR is a website for a small Henderson clinic, with each lead tracked from form to booked consult. WebVegas is my own small Las Vegas brand. The other three are brand and social work, and none of them is an AI project.

GIOSTAR: the clinic website, booking and lead tracking

I built and run giostarwellness.com for a regenerative medicine and wellness clinic in Henderson: every service page, online booking, financing and a blog. A website lead is tracked end to end, from the form to a booked consult to an active patient, with no manual steps. I also built its live brand hub, so every page, post and print piece pulls the same colours, type and rules.

Small Business AI Pages

Where a small firm goes next

Once the first project is chosen, one of these pages covers the next step. Each has its own scope and its own price.

How a Small Firm Review Runs

Five steps from week to decision

The review is short by design. Each step ends with one page the owner keeps.

  1. Step 01

    Week

I sit down with the owner and list the week's manual tasks, the people who do them and the hours they take.

  2. Step 02

    Shortlist

I reduce the list to three candidates and explain why the other tasks wait.

  3. Step 03

    Check

I check whether an existing tool already covers the top candidate before anything new is suggested.

  4. Step 04

    Scope

I write the one project with its steps, owner, measure and undo plan.

  5. Step 05

    Decide

The owner decides, and the check-in date goes on the calendar.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we ended up working with Justin for some AI consulting on how to structure our operations. He laid out a clear plan, didn't overcomplicate it, and we've been running smoother since. Good fit for a service business. He knows Las Vegas and he knows this stuff.

Justin joined our team a few months before opening to replace a marketing agency that wasn’t performing. He stepped up fast. Within weeks he launched a fully redesigned website with new brand guidelines, built and delivered our marketing plan and AI strategy, and helped implement our system architecture so we could open on time. Since then, he’s made several critical enhancements to the site that helped us generate revenue in our first month. His engagement was supposed to end at opening, but he became such an integral part of our leadership team that we kept him on to help evolve our marketing and tech strategy as we grow. He’s easy to work with, pushes back when it matters, and moves easily between strategy, delivery, and operations depending on what’s needed. If you’re looking for a deeply experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated marketing, AI, or technology consultant, I highly recommend Justin Harris AI Consulting.

From what I've seen, Justin knows the AI automation space better than most people I've come across in Las Vegas. He's the kind of person who actually understands the technical side and can explain it without making you feel lost. Good guy, good reputation.

I've Known Justin for a while now and he really knows his stuff when it comes to AI consulting. If people in Las Vegas were to ask me for recommendations in this space, he's the best guy for the job, hands down.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we reached out to Justin for some AI consulting advice on where our service business could actually use automation. He was straightforward about what made sense and what didn't. Ended up being a useful conversation. Las Vegas has no shortage of people claiming to be experts, and he's one of the few who could back it up.

Known Justin for a few years now. Guy knows the AI space better than most people I've come across, especially here in Las Vegas where there's no shortage of people claiming to be experts. He actually understands how AI automation works at a practical level, not just the theory. The kind of person who gives you a straight answer with kindness and patience

Knew Justin before he started building AI systems for businesses, and watching what he's put together is genuinely impressive. He built out an AI automation setup for my website in Las Vegas and it changed how we handle leads completely. The guy actually runs this stuff himself, so he knows what works.

Small Firm AI Cost Drivers

What the scope prices

I quote a fixed price for a written scope after a free look at the week, so the number is known before the project starts. A small firm with one repeated task and a firm with five are different jobs. These are the things that move the scope.

  • How many tasks the project touches
  • How many tools need to connect
  • How much existing data needs tidying
