What the site has to do

An insurance agency site has three jobs. It has to explain each line of coverage in plain words, show which agent serves which area and make the next step, a quote request or a call, obvious on a phone. A handsome homepage that does none of the three is the most common problem I find on agency sites.

I design the site around those jobs, then write the pages a buyer reads before calling. The result is a site the agency can point to, check and edit, with the forms and phone numbers wired to the agency's own inbox and management system.

Insurance Agency Website Design Cost

What moves the price

I quote a fixed price for a written scope after I have looked at what the agency needs. A three-page site for a single-agent shop and a multi-office site with quote tools are different jobs, so a price list would be wrong for both.

An owner at work in a modern office
  • How many line of business pages need their own design
  • Whether the quote request needs a multi-step form or a short one
  • Carrier logo and link handling, with each carrier's rules checked
  • Integration with the agency management system and email
  • Moving an existing site without losing the pages that already bring in leads

Best Insurance Agency Website Design

How to judge an agency site

Agencies comparing options for the best insurance agency website design usually weigh a template builder, a large web firm and a single designer. A good test is whether the site shows what the agency does, who answers the phone and how a buyer gets a quote, and whether the agency can edit those things without a ticket.

Quote Request Pages for Insurance Websites

The form a buyer will finish

A quote request form is where most agency sites lose the buyer. A long form with unclear fields gets abandoned, and a short form with no context gets a call the agency cannot prepare for. I write the form around the coverage questions the carrier needs, in the order a buyer can answer them on a phone.

Each form delivers to the agency's inbox and its management system, and each submission is tracked to the page that produced it, so the agency can see which line pages bring in quote requests.

Work I built, live where you can check it

Every build below is real and every link goes to the live work. Two of the five are full websites I built and still run. The other three are brand and content work, two of them for sites that are in build now, and each card says which.

GIOSTAR: the clinic website, booking and lead tracking

I built and run giostarwellness.com for a regenerative medicine and wellness clinic in Henderson: every service page, online booking, financing and a blog. A website lead is tracked end to end, from the form to a booked consult to an active patient, with no manual steps. I also built its live brand hub, so every page, post and print piece pulls the same colours, type and rules.

Carrier Logos on an Agency Website

Logos placed by the carrier's rules

Many agencies want carrier logos on the homepage, and it is a reasonable instinct: buyers recognize names. The carrier controls how its name and logo can be used, so I place logos only where the carrier's rules allow, with the link, the alt text and the size the carrier specifies.

I do not present a carrier relationship the agency cannot document, and I leave the question of what the agency may say about its carriers to the agency's own compliance team.

Insurance Agent Pages on a Website

Agents named on the site

A buyer wants to know who will answer the phone. Each agent page should name the licensed agent, the states and lines they write, and how to reach them, with a photo if the agent wants one. Agent pages also tell search engines and buyers which agency serves a given area.

I write the agent pages from information the agency confirms, and I do not add credentials or years of experience the agency cannot document.

GIOSTAR homepage, a website I built
  • The licensed agent's name and the states they are licensed in
  • The lines of coverage each agent writes
  • A direct phone line or a contact form that reaches the agent
  • Office hours and the address the agency publishes
  • A short note on how the agent works with a new client

Why Insurance Agencies Skip Website Templates

Where a template falls short

A template gets a site online quickly, and that is its appeal. The trouble shows up later: generic service pages, a contact form that does not match the lines you write, and a builder account that holds the site hostage when you want to leave.

I build from the agency's lines, offices and forms, and the agency keeps the domain and the logins. If a template is the right tool for a very small agency, I will say so in the audit.

Insurance Website Launch Checklist

What I check before launch

Every launch runs the same list, and you get the completed list with your logins, so you can see each item was done.

Every quote form delivers

I submit each form from a phone and a laptop and confirm the message reaches the agency inbox and the management system.

Calls are tracked

Tap-to-call works on every page, and each call is tied back to the page that produced it.

Old addresses redirect

Every page from the old site points to its new home, so links in old emails and search results still work.

Accessibility checked

Color contrast, alt text, keyboard navigation and form labels are tested against WCAG 2.2 AA, with anything open written down.

Speed measured

Load speed is measured on a mobile connection, and images are compressed and sized before the site goes live.

Carrier rules confirmed

Every logo and carrier link is checked against the carrier's stated rules before it is published.

Insurance Website Compliance Questions

Advertising rules I work inside

Insurance advertising is regulated by the state and by the carriers. Nevada's insurance code, NRS Chapter 683A, governs how licensees advertise, and each carrier sets rules for how its name appears on an agency site.

I describe those rules as marketing considerations that shape the build. Whether a page or ad complies is a question for the agency's counsel or compliance team, and I do not certify it.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we ended up working with Justin for some AI consulting on how to structure our operations. He laid out a clear plan, didn't overcomplicate it, and we've been running smoother since. Good fit for a service business. He knows Las Vegas and he knows this stuff.

Justin joined our team a few months before opening to replace a marketing agency that wasn’t performing. He stepped up fast. Within weeks he launched a fully redesigned website with new brand guidelines, built and delivered our marketing plan and AI strategy, and helped implement our system architecture so we could open on time. Since then, he’s made several critical enhancements to the site that helped us generate revenue in our first month. His engagement was supposed to end at opening, but he became such an integral part of our leadership team that we kept him on to help evolve our marketing and tech strategy as we grow. He’s easy to work with, pushes back when it matters, and moves easily between strategy, delivery, and operations depending on what’s needed. If you’re looking for a deeply experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated marketing, AI, or technology consultant, I highly recommend Justin Harris AI Consulting.
