Therapist Marketing

Marketing that respects the client

Therapist marketing starts with how a private practice fills its calendar: referrals, directories, insurance panels and cash-pay sessions. I build the search work, the website and the ads around that, with a readout that tracks inquiries without collecting anything private.

How a Therapy Practice Fills Its Calendar

Where a practice's clients come from

A private therapy practice fills its calendar from a few sources: referrals from doctors, schools and former clients, a directory profile, a website that a prospective client finds on their own, and occasionally paid listings. Insurance panels and cash-pay sessions change the economics, because a session paid by insurance and a session paid privately carry different rates and different paperwork.

The referral is the strongest source and the hardest to measure. The website is the one part of the funnel the practice controls, and it is where most of the decisions get made quietly, on a phone, late at night.

Therapy Marketing Problems

Spend with no read on who books

Many practices pay for directory profiles and ads that send a steady stream of inquiries, some of which turn into sessions. The directory keeps the record of who clicked and what it charged. The practice rarely knows which profile produced the client who stayed.

The owner is left paying fees without a clear answer. That is the gap I start with, and it is the one the readout is built to show, without needing any client's private details to do it.

Therapy Marketing Strategy

How I approach a therapy practice

One person scopes the work, writes the pages and reads the inquiry numbers. The search work, the website and any ads share one tracking setup that counts inquiries and bookings by source, and never collects clinical notes or client details.

Every piece can be opened and checked by the practice: the audit file, the pages, the campaign settings and the monthly readout. The accounts are in the practice's name, and I hand over every login on day one.

Discretion and Tone

How privacy shapes the marketing

Therapy is a sensitive service. Marketing for it should never create urgency, target someone at a vulnerable moment or imply that a person's private struggle is a sales opportunity. Copy stays calm, specific and plain, and it describes the practice rather than the client.

Licensing boards for counselors, psychologists and social workers set their own rules on advertising, testimonials and client privacy. Whether a page or ad meets those rules is a question for the clinician and the board, and I flag any line they should check before it runs.

Therapy Client Path

How someone finds and books a therapist

The path usually starts with a question, not a name. A person searches for help with a concern, reads a few profiles, checks whether a therapist takes their insurance and sends a short message or booking request. Many people decide in one sitting, and the site has to make the next step obvious without pressure.

The path is shorter when a referral sends the person in with a name. In that case the practice's own pages still matter, because the referred person checks the site before the first call.

Closest Work I Have Done

No therapy client case is claimed

I have not built or run marketing for a therapy practice before, so no therapy client case is claimed on this page. The closest build is GIOSTAR, a Henderson regenerative medicine and wellness clinic where I built the website, the online booking and the service pages. It is a medical practice, not a therapy practice, so it does not show how therapy inquiries behave.

WebVegas, my own Las Vegas web design brand, is the other full site I run. The method carries over: tracked forms that collect only what is needed and a phone-first layout.

GIOSTAR: the clinic website, booking and lead tracking

I built and run giostarwellness.com for a regenerative medicine and wellness clinic in Henderson: every service page, online booking, financing and a blog. A website lead is tracked end to end, from the form to a booked consult to an active patient, with no manual steps. I also built its live brand hub, so every page, post and print piece pulls the same colours, type and rules.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we ended up working with Justin for some AI consulting on how to structure our operations. He laid out a clear plan, didn't overcomplicate it, and we've been running smoother since. Good fit for a service business. He knows Las Vegas and he knows this stuff.

Justin joined our team a few months before opening to replace a marketing agency that wasn’t performing. He stepped up fast. Within weeks he launched a fully redesigned website with new brand guidelines, built and delivered our marketing plan and AI strategy, and helped implement our system architecture so we could open on time. Since then, he’s made several critical enhancements to the site that helped us generate revenue in our first month. His engagement was supposed to end at opening, but he became such an integral part of our leadership team that we kept him on to help evolve our marketing and tech strategy as we grow. He’s easy to work with, pushes back when it matters, and moves easily between strategy, delivery, and operations depending on what’s needed. If you’re looking for a deeply experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated marketing, AI, or technology consultant, I highly recommend Justin Harris AI Consulting.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we reached out to Justin for some AI consulting advice on where our service business could actually use automation. He was straightforward about what made sense and what didn't. Ended up being a useful conversation. Knew Justin before he started building AI systems for businesses, and watching what he's put together is genuinely impressive. He built out an AI automation setup for my website in Las Vegas and it changed how we handle leads completely. The guy actually runs this stuff himself, so he knows what works.

Therapy Marketing Process

How an engagement runs

Each step ends with a document you keep, whether or not you hire me.

  1. Step 01

    Read the inquiry sources

I review the site, the directory profiles and any ad accounts, then send a written read of where inquiries come from.

  2. Step 02

    Agree the scope in writing

Services, pages, tracking and reporting on one page, with the privacy limits written in.

  3. Step 03

    Build the work

Pages and campaigns built and checked on phones, with the tracking limited to counts and sources.

  4. Step 04

    Test the inquiry path

Test forms run end to end, so each inquiry is counted once and traced to its source without storing private details.

  5. Step 05

    Report and adjust monthly

Each readout names what changed, what it produced and what comes next, in counts only.

What Moves the Scope

What moves the price

I quote a fixed price for a written scope after I have seen the practice's sources and goals. A solo clinician with a clean profile is a different job from a group practice with several clinicians and a directory strategy, so a price list would be wrong for both.

  • How many pages need writing, and how many services they cover
  • Whether directory profiles need cleanup or a rebuild
  • How much of the current site has to change before search work helps
  • How deep the readout goes, from a monthly page to a review call

One Person Does the Marketing

One person does the work

I am Justin Harris. I have built websites and run digital marketing for Las Vegas businesses for fourteen years, and I still do the work myself. When you hire me, you talk to the person writing the pages and reading the counts, not to an account manager who passes the account on.

A reviewer on my Google profile put it plainly: "The guy actually runs this stuff himself, so he knows what works."
