Hotel Advertising

Hotel ads traced to bookings

Hotel advertising earns its budget when each click can be followed to a direct booking request. I set up the tracking first, cap the spend in writing, and show you which campaign brought in each request.

Work I built, live where you can check it

Every build below is real and every link goes to the live work. None of the five is a hotel ad campaign, and I do not claim hotel advertising results. Two are full websites I built and still run. The Desert Inn Oasis work is a brand for a Las Vegas event venue, and its site is in build.

Desert Inn Oasis: the refined mark and the plan for the new site

For a Las Vegas event venue I redrew the Desert Inn Oasis lockup as clean vector letterforms and planned the new website from 735 competitor pages. The new site is in build now.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we ended up working with Justin for some AI consulting on how to structure our operations. He laid out a clear plan, didn't overcomplicate it, and we've been running smoother since. Good fit for a service business. He knows Las Vegas and he knows this stuff.

Justin joined our team a few months before opening to replace a marketing agency that wasn’t performing. He stepped up fast. Within weeks he launched a fully redesigned website with new brand guidelines, built and delivered our marketing plan and AI strategy, and helped implement our system architecture so we could open on time. Since then, he’s made several critical enhancements to the site that helped us generate revenue in our first month. His engagement was supposed to end at opening, but he became such an integral part of our leadership team that we kept him on to help evolve our marketing and tech strategy as we grow. He’s easy to work with, pushes back when it matters, and moves easily between strategy, delivery, and operations depending on what’s needed. If you’re looking for a deeply experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated marketing, AI, or technology consultant, I highly recommend Justin Harris AI Consulting.

From what I've seen, Justin knows the AI automation space better than most people I've come across in Las Vegas. He's the kind of person who actually understands the technical side and can explain it without making you feel lost. Good guy, good reputation.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we reached out to Justin for some AI consulting advice on where our service business could actually use automation. He was straightforward about what made sense and what didn't. Ended up being a useful conversation. Las Vegas has no shortage of people claiming to be experts, and he's one of the few who could back it up.

Knew Justin before he started building AI systems for businesses, and watching what he's put together is genuinely impressive. He built out an AI automation setup for my website in Las Vegas and it changed how we handle leads completely. The guy actually runs this stuff himself, so he knows what works.

Hotel Advertising Services

Who books a hotel after an ad

A guest who sees a hotel ad is usually choosing among three or four properties for the same dates. Some already know the hotel's name and are checking the rate. Others searched for a place near an event and saw the hotel's ad first. Some saw a platform ad that named the hotel. Each group needs a different ad, and each ad needs to land on the page that answers its question.

Hotel Advertising Company

One person who runs the account

The person who sets up the campaigns is the person who reads the calls and the booking requests. There is no account manager who passes the account to a junior, and no handoff between a strategist and the person who buys the ads.

I have worked in Las Vegas digital marketing for fourteen years and I do the work myself. You own the domain, the hosting and every login from day one.

Hotel Advertising Cost

What moves the ad budget

I quote a fixed price for a written scope after I have seen the property's current site and its booking path. The ad budget is a separate line, which you set and cap, and it does not move without a written change.

WebVegas homepage, a website I built
  • How many campaigns the property runs: property name, event dates, retargeting, or all three
  • How many event calendars the property tracks each season
  • Whether the booking engine can pass the source of each booking to the report
  • Whether ads point at a page I build or at the property's current site
  • How many properties share one account and one budget

Hotel Advertising Examples

Three campaigns I would set up first

These are the campaigns I would start with for most hotels. Each has a named audience, a named page and a tracked booking route, so each result can be checked.

Property name search ads

Ads that show when someone searches the hotel's own name. The person is already looking for the property, and the ad sends them to the rate page.

Event date campaigns

Ads timed to conventions, concerts and sports weekends, with a page for each event that names the dates and the nearest room types.

Retargeting for room viewers

Ads for people who viewed a room page but did not start a booking. The ad shows the room they looked at, with a link back to the booking step.

Hotel Advertising Services Grid

What I run for hotel owners

Hotel advertising sits beside the search and website work. Each card opens the page for the service it covers.

  1. Step 01

    Google search ads

Property name and event search ads, with call tracking and a booking route on each one.

  2. Step 02

    Facebook and Instagram ads

Audience ads with a photo and an offer for each property page, reviewed before launch.

  3. Step 03

    Hotel search work

The property's own pages and listing, so the ads and the search results send guests to the same place.

  4. Step 04

    Hotel website design

Room, event and group pages with a tested booking handoff for ads to land on.

  5. Step 05

    Hospitality industry page

The full hospitality plan: search, website, ads and reviews in one written scope.

Platform Ads Versus Your Own Ads

Where the budget should go

Booking platforms run their own ads and can bid on the property's name. A guest who clicks a platform ad books through the platform, and the platform keeps a commission on that booking. Ads the property runs itself send the guest to its own booking path. Both can be worth running, but the budget has to be split on purpose, and the report has to show which route each booking came from.

Hotel Advertising Strategy

The plan before the first ad

Before any ad runs, I write a one page plan: which campaigns run, which event dates they follow, what counts as a booking request, and what the budget does in a slow month. The plan is what the monthly report gets checked against.

An owner at work in a modern office

Hotel Advertising Event Calendar

Timing ads to the calendar

Las Vegas hotel demand moves with the events on the calendar, and the ads should move with them. I set the event dates in the plan before the season starts, raise the cap for the weeks that matter, and lower it when the calendar is quiet. A campaign that runs at one steady pace through a convention week and a slow week will miss the first and waste the second.

GIOSTAR brand hub, a system I built

Hotel Advertising Tracking

How I show what booked

The report lists each campaign, its calls and its booking requests, and the date each change was made. If the booking engine cannot pass the source of a booking, those bookings are marked as untraced rather than counted for an ad. A campaign with no requests after a full month gets a plain note and a next step.

A business owner reviewing work on a phone

Hotel Advertising Rules

Rules the ads work inside

Google and Meta have their own policies for ads about travel, lodging and some audiences, and those policies change. I write copy inside them, avoid targeting that the platforms restrict, and tell you when a campaign needs a review before it runs. Whether a claim in an ad is accurate about the property is for the owner and its counsel to confirm. My part is the marketing: what the ad says, where it sends people and what the tracking shows.
