Church Website Design

A site for first visits

Church website design should answer a first-time visitor's questions before the visitor reaches the parking lot: when services meet, where to park, where children go and how to watch online. I design and build the site, keep it easy for volunteers to edit, and show the board which pages bring first visits.

Church Website Layout

A visit starts on the website

Most people who look up a church online are deciding whether to come. They want the service times, the address, the parking, the children's program and the first-visit steps, and they want them in a few taps on a phone.

I build the first screen to answer those questions, then send the visitor to a page for each part. A church site that buries the service times under a banner photo makes the visitor do the work.

Church Website Services

What the site has to do

A church site has to do six things before it looks good, and the look comes last.

A business owner reviewing work on a phone
  • Show service times that match the church's calendar
  • Answer what a first visit looks like, in plain words
  • Let a visitor find children's and youth information in two taps
  • Link the live stream and past sermons without a login wall
  • Let a volunteer update events without calling a developer
  • Route every form to the office inbox and no one else's

Plan Your Visit Page

The page first-time visitors read

The plan-your-visit page is the most important page on a church site. Each section below answers one question a first-time visitor brings to it.

Service times and location

The times, the address and a map link sit at the top of the page, with the same details used on the listing.

Parking and arrival

Where to park, which door to use and where a visitor checks in, written as a short walk-through.

What to expect

A short description of the service, the music, the length and whether to dress up, in the church's own words.

Children and youth

The children's check-in process, the ages each class serves and a contact for questions, kept current by the office.

Accessibility

Step-free entry, hearing assistance and seating details, written as the church confirms them.

Contact a person

A named staff member or greeter and a phone number, so a first-time visitor can ask a question before arriving.

Church Live Stream Details

Online worship, clearly marked

Many churches stream services, and many visitors arrive that way first. The live-stream page says which platform carries the service, what time it starts and how to join from a phone or a television.

The stream is linked from the service times and the homepage, and the page shows when the last service was archived. If the church does not stream, the site does not pretend that it does.

Church Events Calendar

Events that stay current

A calendar that is out of date does more damage than no calendar. Each event gets a date, a place, a contact and a short description, and past events move to an archive so the list stays true.

A volunteer team can add an event from a simple form, and I check the first few entries before handing the editor over.

Church Website Editing

Edits a volunteer can make

Most churches run on volunteers, so the editor has to be simple. I set up the site so a staff member or volunteer can change service times, events and sermon links without a developer, and I write a one-page guide for the work they do most.

The domain, the hosting and every login belong to the church from day one. If a volunteer leaves, the church keeps the site and the access.

Church Giving Pages

Giving that stays simple

Giving pages are the most sensitive pages on a church site. I keep the path to give short, clear and optional, using the giving tool the church already uses, with no pop-up and no countdown.

The church's leaders decide what the page says about giving. I build it from their text and do not add appeals of my own.

An owner at work in a modern office

Church Ministry Pages

One page for each ministry

A ministry page answers the question a parent or a new member asks: what happens here, who leads it and how to join. Each ministry gets a page with the time, the place, the leader's name and a way to contact the office.

Pages stay short. A longer history can live in the church's archive and be linked from the bottom, so the first screen answers the question the visitor came with.

GIOSTAR brand hub, a system I built

Children's Check-in Pages

What families need to know

The church sets its own check-in and safety procedures, and its leaders write them. I publish what they give me, in the words they choose, and I do not invent a procedure.

Any photo of a child on the site has written consent from a parent or guardian, kept on file, and it comes down when asked.

Closest Church Work

No church site to show

I have not built a church website, and I do not claim one. The closest work is a healthcare clinic website in Henderson with online booking and lead tracking, and a Las Vegas web design brand with its own site. I can show the layout and booking work, not church content.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we ended up working with Justin for some AI consulting on how to structure our operations. He laid out a clear plan, didn't overcomplicate it, and we've been running smoother since. Good fit for a service business. He knows Las Vegas and he knows this stuff.

Justin joined our team a few months before opening to replace a marketing agency that wasn’t performing. He stepped up fast. Within weeks he launched a fully redesigned website with new brand guidelines, built and delivered our marketing plan and AI strategy, and helped implement our system architecture so we could open on time. Since then, he’s made several critical enhancements to the site that helped us generate revenue in our first month. His engagement was supposed to end at opening, but he became such an integral part of our leadership team that we kept him on to help evolve our marketing and tech strategy as we grow. He’s easy to work with, pushes back when it matters, and moves easily between strategy, delivery, and operations depending on what’s needed. If you’re looking for a deeply experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated marketing, AI, or technology consultant, I highly recommend Justin Harris AI Consulting.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we reached out to Justin for some AI consulting advice on where our service business could actually use automation. He was straightforward about what made sense and what didn't. Ended up being a useful conversation. Las Vegas has no shortage of people claiming to be experts, and he's one of the few who could back it up.

Knew Justin before he started building AI systems for businesses, and watching what he's put together is genuinely impressive. He built out an AI automation setup for my website in Las Vegas and it changed how we handle leads completely. The guy actually runs this stuff himself, so he knows what works.
