SaaS Development Company
Software customers pay to use
A SaaS development company should start with the first version that paying customers will use, and I plan every build that way. I write the scope, build the accounts and billing, and launch the product myself.

What a SaaS product needs on day one
A software product that customers pay to use needs more than a useful feature. It needs sign-up and login, a way to set each customer's plan, roles that decide who can see what, an admin area for your team, and the emails that confirm each step. Those parts carry the product, and customers judge the product by them first.
I write each of those parts into the scope before any build starts. A feature that is not on the list does not go into the first version, and a part on the list has a named test, so nothing reaches a paying customer without one.

Building the Right First Version
Start with the customers you can name
The most expensive mistake in a SaaS build is a first version built for customers who only exist in a plan. Before any code, I ask you to name three customers, the job each one hires the product to do, and the moment they would stop paying.
Those answers decide the first version. Features that serve people you cannot name move to a later list, and the list says why each one waits. A smaller first version reaches paying customers sooner and shows you what the second version needs.

Subscription and Billing Plumbing
The parts customers never see until they break
Billing, access and roles work quietly when they are built well. Each part below is tested before launch, because a failure in any one of them stops a customer from paying or from using what they bought.
Sign-up and login
Account creation, password reset and email confirmation, tested with the failure paths a real customer will hit.
Plans and billing
Subscriptions, upgrades and cancellations wired through a payment processor such as Stripe, with the payment state driving access.
Roles and permissions
Each user sees only the records their role allows, and the admin screens keep a record of who changed what.
Admin and support tools
A place for your team to look up an account, see its billing state and answer a customer without a developer on the line.
SaaS Product Scope
The lines every product scope includes
| Scope line | What it decides | Who approves |
|---|---|---|
| Core customers | The three people the first version must serve | You |
| Core tasks | The jobs each customer must finish in the product | You, with me |
| Plans and billing | What each plan includes and how a customer moves between plans | You |
| Roles and admin | Who can see what, and what your team can change without me | You, after I show the screens |
| Launch and support | The launch date, the first-week watch list and the support path | You and me |
How Much SaaS Development Costs
What moves the price of a product build
I quote a fixed price for a written scope, so the number you agree to is the number you pay. The biggest factors are the number of user roles, the plans and how they change, the systems the product connects to and how much of the admin side your team needs on day one.
A number before the scope exists would be a guess, and a guess usually moves once someone asks what the product has to do. I write the scope first, then price each line, so you can see where the money goes and what you could move to a later version.

Separating Each Customer's Data
Keeping every account's records apart
A product with many customers keeps each customer's records separate from the others. I decide how that separation works before the first screen is built, and I write it into the scope, so the rule is clear to anyone who reads the code later.
Every query that reads customer records is checked against the account that asked for it. Admin actions keep a log, and the access list is reviewed again as the product adds users and roles.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we ended up working with Justin for some AI consulting on how to structure our operations. He laid out a clear plan, didn't overcomplicate it, and we've been running smoother since. Good fit for a service business. He knows Las Vegas and he knows this stuff.

Justin joined our team a few months before opening to replace a marketing agency that wasn’t performing. He stepped up fast. Within weeks he launched a fully redesigned website with new brand guidelines, built and delivered our marketing plan and AI strategy, and helped implement our system architecture so we could open on time. Since then, he’s made several critical enhancements to the site that helped us generate revenue in our first month. His engagement was supposed to end at opening, but he became such an integral part of our leadership team that we kept him on to help evolve our marketing and tech strategy as we grow. He’s easy to work with, pushes back when it matters, and moves easily between strategy, delivery, and operations depending on what’s needed. If you’re looking for a deeply experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated marketing, AI, or technology consultant, I highly recommend Justin Harris AI Consulting.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we reached out to Justin for some AI consulting advice on where our service business could actually use automation. He was straightforward about what made sense and what didn't. Ended up being a useful conversation. Las Vegas has no shortage of people claiming to be experts, and he's one of the few who could back it up.

Knew Justin before he started building AI systems for businesses, and watching what he's put together is genuinely impressive. He built out an AI automation setup for my website in Las Vegas and it changed how we handle leads completely. The guy actually runs this stuff himself, so he knows what works.
