Audio Ads With a Way to Respond

Spotify ads Las Vegas brands buy give a listener nothing to click, so I build the response path first. Every audio spot gets a unique code or short address, and each one is tracked to a call, a booking or a visit.

What Spotify Ads Are

Spoken spots between songs

Spotify ads are audio spots that play between songs and podcast episodes for listeners on the free plan. Some ads are audio only, and some pair the sound with a banner or a companion image on screen. The listener cannot click a sound, so the response has to come from something they hear or see.

That is the main challenge. A spot can reach a person in a car or at a desk, and it can be heard without being seen. The ad is only useful when the listener can remember a word or a short address and act on it later.

Why Audio Needs a Response Path

Giving the listener a way back

Audio ads often fail because the only call to action is a phone number read at speed, or a website name that is forgotten by the next song. An owner who hears no calls assumes the spot did nothing, when the listener may have wanted to act and could not.

I build the response path before the script. It is a short address or code that is easy to say, a page that matches the spot and a phone number that the team answers. The script is written around that path, not the other way round.

Unique Codes and Short Addresses

A code for every spot

A unique code or short address is what lets audio be measured. Each spot gets its own address, such as a short path on your domain that redirects to the right page. When a visitor arrives on that path, the visit is tied to the spot that sent them.

The address is short enough to say once and simple enough to spell. I check each one on a phone, and I make sure the redirect works before the spot goes live, so the listener never lands on an error.

Writing the Spot

A script that works by ear

A good audio spot names the service, the area and the response in the first fifteen seconds, and it repeats the response at the end. Listeners hear the spot once, often while doing something else, so the words that matter must come early and come again.

I write the script with you from the questions your customers ask, and I read it aloud for length before it is recorded. A spot that runs longer than the ad slot is cut, not rushed.

Tracking Responses to Audio

Linking the visit to the spot

Each code and short address is tracked separately, so the visits, calls and bookings from each spot can be counted. The phone number used in audio is tracked as its own line, which lets the report match a call to the spot that produced it.

Some listeners will search for the business by name after hearing the spot. I track branded searches as a separate line, so the report can show the lift without claiming every search came from the audio.

Offline Variant for Audio

Codes that work away from the speaker

Some audio responses happen after the listener leaves the car or the desk, so a simple phone number is not enough. A printed code on a flyer, a QR code on a counter or a short address on a receipt can carry the same response path into the real world.

I set up the offline variant as its own test, with its own code, so a visit that starts on a printed piece is not confused with a visit from the audio. The report shows both paths side by side.

When Audio Ads Fit

Businesses that can take the call

A service with a clear next step

A booked consult, a quote or a visit a listener can plan in the car. The spot needs somewhere to send them.

A short address people can say

A code or short path that a listener can remember after one hearing, backed by a page that works.

A team that answers the phone

Calls that get a reply the same day. A spot that brings a call to a missed line wastes the listener's attention.

When Audio Ads Do Not Fit

When I would skip the channel

If the service needs a picture to explain it, audio alone will struggle, and a video or a visual channel may do more. If the response is a long form that needs a computer, the listener will drop off before they reach it. If the budget is too small to reach enough listeners, the test will read as noise.

I say so in writing before any spend, and I suggest the channel I would test next. A plan that ends with a clear no is more useful than a spot that plays for weeks with no response to read.

Spotify Ads Process

Steps from the spot to the review

  1. Step 01

    Build the response path

I set the code, the short address, the page and the phone line. You approve each one before a word of script is written.

  2. Step 02

    Write and read the spot

One script for the test, read aloud for length. The response is named at the start and at the end.

  3. Step 03

    Run the fixed test

The spot runs for the agreed period and budget, with each code tracked separately and a weekly note.

  4. Step 04

    Decide and report

At the end, the spot continues, changes or stops, and the reason is written down with the response counts.

Spotify Ads Cost

What moves the spend

The cost depends on the audience, the targeting, the spot length and the action you pay for. An audio campaign aimed at a broad audience costs differently from one aimed at a city or a radius, and a longer test costs more than a short one.

I quote a fixed price for a written scope after a free look at the response path and the script, so you know the full cost before you commit.

Working With One Consultant

The person who writes the response

I have built websites and run digital marketing for Las Vegas businesses for fourteen years, and I still do the account work myself. The person who writes the response path is the person who reads the codes and the calls each week.

The ad account, the codes, the short addresses and the logins are in your name. If you stop working with me, the history and the response paths stay with you.

Work I built, live where you can check it

The builds below are websites and brand work I finished and still run. An audio listener who wants to respond needs a short address and a page that works, and these are the pages I build for that. I do not claim audio ad results for any of them.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we ended up working with Justin for some AI consulting on how to structure our operations. He laid out a clear plan, didn't overcomplicate it, and we've been running smoother since. Good fit for a service business. He knows Las Vegas and he knows this stuff.

Justin joined our team a few months before opening to replace a marketing agency that wasn’t performing. He stepped up fast. Within weeks he launched a fully redesigned website with new brand guidelines, built and delivered our marketing plan and AI strategy, and helped implement our system architecture so we could open on time. Since then, he’s made several critical enhancements to the site that helped us generate revenue in our first month. His engagement was supposed to end at opening, but he became such an integral part of our leadership team that we kept him on to help evolve our marketing and tech strategy as we grow. He’s easy to work with, pushes back when it matters, and moves easily between strategy, delivery, and operations depending on what’s needed. If you’re looking for a deeply experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated marketing, AI, or technology consultant, I highly recommend Justin Harris AI Consulting.
