ChatGPT Ads Las Vegas

A New Channel, Tested Small

ChatGPT ads Las Vegas businesses can buy are still in early testing, so I start by checking whether your market can use them. If it can, I set a small test with tracking first and tell you plainly what the numbers do and do not show.

What ChatGPT Ads Are

Sponsored results inside an answer

OpenAI began testing ads inside ChatGPT for logged-in adults in the United States in early February 2026. The test covered the free and Go plans. The ads appear below an answer, carry a Sponsored label, and are matched to the topic of the conversation, the location and the language.

The format is new, so the rules are still moving. Public reporting from the first months described a limited beta with large minimum commitments, and it reported early click-through rates that trailed Google Search. Those reports are from the first months, and they may already be out of date by the time you read this.

Who Can Buy Today

Access is still limited

Early access was described as restricted, with a small group of large advertisers and a minimum spend that most local service businesses cannot meet. Self-serve options were reported in testing at lower minimums, and I cannot confirm their current terms from a primary source.

That means the first question is not how to write the ad. It is whether your account can buy placements at all today. I check that with the platform before I quote a test, so you do not pay for a plan that cannot run.

Timing matters for a local business. If the account can buy placements only at a large minimum, the test waits, and I say so in the first note rather than letting a plan sit in a folder while the market moves.

I will keep this page current as the terms change, and the note you receive will say which line of this page changed.

What Advertisers Can Measure

The signals available right now

Measurement is the weakest part of the new format. Public reporting says advertisers do not receive the content of individual conversations, and the reports they get are aggregate counts. That is a privacy choice, and it limits what you can learn about any single person who saw the ad.

I set up the tracking you can control on your side: the landing page, the call number and the form. Those tell you whether a visit from the ad became a call or a booking, even when the ad report itself is thin.

A simple scorecard helps here. For each week of the test I record the spend, the visits from the ad, the calls, the forms and the bookings, and I mark which of those numbers came from your own tracking and which came from the platform. That separation keeps the report honest.

Ads Matched to the Conversation

Why context changes the test

An ad that appears inside a conversation about a topic is different from a search ad that waits for a keyword. The person is already thinking about the subject, and the ad has to fit that thought without sounding like an interruption.

For a local service business, the test copy has to name the service, the area and the next step in one line. A vague ad for a broad topic brings clicks from people who are researching, not buying, and those clicks are expensive to learn from.

A Readiness Check Before Spend

Four things to confirm first

Access to buy

Confirm the account can buy placements today, at the minimum the platform states, before any creative is written.

A page that can take the visit

The landing page must load fast, name the service and show the phone number or booking button above the fold.

A way to count the result

Call tracking and form tracking set up before the test, so a visit can be matched to a call or a booking.

A budget you can afford to learn from

A fixed test amount that you can lose without harm, with a date to stop and decide what happened.

A named decision

Write the cost you would accept per booked call before the test. Without that line, any result can be called a success.

What a Small Test Looks Like

A test you can stop

A small test has one audience, one offer and one landing page. It runs for a fixed period, and the result is judged against the cost of the same lead from a channel you already use, such as a search ad or a referral.

I write the decision rule before the first placement goes live. If the cost of a booked call is above the cost you already pay, the test ends, and I show you the numbers in one page.

Where ChatGPT Ads Fit Locally

The businesses a test suits

A ChatGPT ad may suit a business where people ask detailed questions before they book: a clinic that explains procedures, a law office that explains a process, or a home service company that explains options. The question is already in the conversation, and the ad can answer the next step.

It is a poor fit for a business that sells one quick service at the lowest price. Those buyers compare with a map listing and a phone call, and a new channel rarely beats that path on its first test.

Where ChatGPT Ads Fit Poorly

When I would wait

I would wait if the account cannot buy placements, if the landing page is slow or if no one answers calls on weekends. A new channel that sends traffic to a broken process only teaches you that the process is broken.

I would also wait if the budget is so small that one bad week decides the result. A test has to run long enough to show a pattern, and a budget that cannot cover that period tells you nothing.

Regulated categories need an extra review step before any copy goes live. A medical, legal or financial claim that reads well in a test can break the platform's rules and your own, so I check each line against the service rules first.

How I Would Set Up the Test

The order of work

I start with the page, then the tracking, then the offer, and only then the ad copy. The page and the tracking decide whether any result can be read, so they come first. The copy is the last thing I change, not the first.

Each week I send a note with the spend, the visits, the calls and the bookings, and I say what changed. Weak copy is replaced one line at a time, so you can see what each change did.

Other Channels to Compare

What I would test next

Before a new channel gets budget, I compare it with the channels you already run. A search campaign that brings calls at a known cost is a fair benchmark. A video or a social test is the next step when search cannot reach the audience you need.

The point of the comparison is to decide where the next dollar goes, not to chase the newest format. If ChatGPT ads cannot beat the benchmark, that is a useful answer.

Each channel gets the same three questions before it receives money: who it reaches, what it costs per action, and how the result will be read. A channel that cannot answer all three stays in the test queue until it can.

Working With One Consultant

The person who reads the test

I have built websites and run digital marketing for Las Vegas businesses for fourteen years, and I still do the account work myself. The person who checks the platform's terms is the person who writes the test and reads the weekly note.

The accounts and logins are in your name. If the channel closes or the terms change, the history stays with you, and I tell you what it means for your plan in writing.

Work I built, live where you can check it

The builds below are websites and brand work I finished and still run. A ChatGPT ad would send people to a page like these, so the landing page and tracking matter more than the ad format. I do not claim ChatGPT ad results for any of them.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we ended up working with Justin for some AI consulting on how to structure our operations. He laid out a clear plan, didn't overcomplicate it, and we've been running smoother since. Good fit for a service business. He knows Las Vegas and he knows this stuff.

Justin joined our team a few months before opening to replace a marketing agency that wasn’t performing. He stepped up fast. Within weeks he launched a fully redesigned website with new brand guidelines, built and delivered our marketing plan and AI strategy, and helped implement our system architecture so we could open on time. Since then, he’s made several critical enhancements to the site that helped us generate revenue in our first month. His engagement was supposed to end at opening, but he became such an integral part of our leadership team that we kept him on to help evolve our marketing and tech strategy as we grow. He’s easy to work with, pushes back when it matters, and moves easily between strategy, delivery, and operations depending on what’s needed. If you’re looking for a deeply experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated marketing, AI, or technology consultant, I highly recommend Justin Harris AI Consulting.
