Ecommerce Website Problems

Traffic arrives and checkout leaks

A store can look finished and still lose most of the people who reach it. A buyer adds a product, reaches the shipping step, sees a cost they did not expect and closes the tab. Another stalls at account creation. Another cannot find the size chart. Nobody tells the owner, and the agency report shows visits and orders but never the gap between them.

Stores also collect weight. Each problem gets an app, and a year later the store loads slowly, two tools disagree about a price and nobody remembers what half of them do. Often the agency opened the platform account in its own name, so the merchant cannot see settings, export data or move the store without asking permission.

Ecommerce Web Development

One person builds the store and shows the numbers

I am Justin Harris. I have worked in Las Vegas digital marketing for fourteen years, built for more than 300 Valley businesses and I am rated five stars on Google. I do the work myself. One person designs the pages, sets up the checkout, connects the tracking and explains the numbers afterward.

You do not hand a brief to a salesperson and wait. You own the platform account, the domain and every login from day one, and your team can edit products and pages without me.

Ecommerce Website Design Portfolio

Work I built, live where you can check it

The portfolio shows two full websites I built and run, GIOSTAR with online booking and financing and WebVegas with its four-step booking form, plus three brand and content builds. None of the five is an online store, and I would rather say so plainly. The pages here describe how I approach store work and what you would receive.

WebVegas: a Las Vegas web design brand and its booking funnel

I designed and built webvegas.io, a Las Vegas web design and SEO brand: the site, a four-step booking form that hands each lead a free design walkthrough, and the brand behind it.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we ended up working with Justin for some AI consulting on how to structure our operations. He laid out a clear plan, didn't overcomplicate it, and we've been running smoother since. Good fit for a service business. He knows Las Vegas and he knows this stuff.

Justin joined our team a few months before opening to replace a marketing agency that wasn’t performing. He stepped up fast. Within weeks he launched a fully redesigned website with new brand guidelines, built and delivered our marketing plan and AI strategy, and helped implement our system architecture so we could open on time. Since then, he’s made several critical enhancements to the site that helped us generate revenue in our first month. His engagement was supposed to end at opening, but he became such an integral part of our leadership team that we kept him on to help evolve our marketing and tech strategy as we grow. He’s easy to work with, pushes back when it matters, and moves easily between strategy, delivery, and operations depending on what’s needed. If you’re looking for a deeply experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated marketing, AI, or technology consultant, I highly recommend Justin Harris AI Consulting.

From what I've seen, Justin knows the AI automation space better than most people I've come across in Las Vegas. He's the kind of person who actually understands the technical side and can explain it without making you feel lost. Good guy, good reputation.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we reached out to Justin for some AI consulting advice on where our service business could actually use automation. He was straightforward about what made sense and what didn't. Ended up being a useful conversation. Las Vegas has no shortage of people claiming to be experts, and he's one of the few who could back it up.

Known Justin for a few years now. Guy knows the AI space better than most people I've come across, especially here in Las Vegas where there's no shortage of people claiming to be experts. He actually understands how AI automation works at a practical level, not just the theory. The kind of person who gives you a straight answer with kindness and patience

Knew Justin before he started building AI systems for businesses, and watching what he's put together is genuinely impressive. He built out an AI automation setup for my website in Las Vegas and it changed how we handle leads completely. The guy actually runs this stuff himself, so he knows what works.

Ecommerce Website Design Services

What I build

Each item ends in something you can open and test on a phone.

Store design

Product, collection and cart pages designed phone first, from your brand and your buyer, with every state designed.

Product pages

Photos, options, size guides and answers to the questions buyers ask before they add to cart, placed where they look.

Checkout design

A short path from cart to payment, with shipping costs shown early, guest checkout and clear error messages.

Payment and shipping setup

Your processor and shipping rules connected and tested with real test orders, including declined cards.

Tracking and reporting

Every step from visit to order recorded in your own analytics account, so you can see where buyers leave.

Handover

Logins, a short guide and a walkthrough, so your team can add products, change prices and run the store.

Ecommerce Checkout Path Audit

Where buyers leave, step by step

The audit follows one buyer through the store and records every point of friction.

  1. Step 01

    Landing

Which pages bring visitors in, and whether each matches what the visitor clicked to get there.

  2. Step 02

    Product page

Photos, options, price clarity and whether add-to-cart is obvious on a phone without scrolling.

  3. Step 03

    Cart

Whether costs are clear, quantities can be edited and the buyer keeps their place if they leave.

  4. Step 04

    Shipping

When shipping costs appear. A surprise at this step loses more buyers than almost any other.

  5. Step 05

    Payment

Payment methods, error messages and whether a declined card is explained in plain words.

  6. Step 06

    Confirmation

The confirmation page and email, and whether the order is recorded in your analytics.

Ecommerce Website Design Template

Store template, custom theme or custom build

A template is often the right start. Here is how the three routes compare.
Store templateCustom themeCustom buildMe
Best whenThe store is new and the catalog is simpleThe brand has to stand apart from competitorsThe rules or workflow are unusualYou want the right option and a person who answers for it
Setup timeShort, with a tested layoutLonger, with design and build workLongest, with the most decisionsScoped in writing with a date
DistinctivenessShared with every store using the themeYour own look on a proven platformYour own, down to the workflowMatches the route chosen
UpkeepLight, with updates from the theme authorModerate, with updates tested by meHeaviest, with custom code to maintainWritten down in a handover for your team
Cost of changeLow, inside the theme's limitsModerateHighestStated in the scope before any change
OwnershipYour account, if set up correctlyYour account and design filesYour repository and accountsYour accounts, files and code

Ecommerce Website Design Mistakes

Six mistakes I find on stores

None of these is exotic. Each is fixable once somebody looks.

Shipping revealed late

Buyers who see a surprise cost at the final step often leave. Show the cost early, even as an estimate.

Forced accounts

Making buyers register before paying turns some away. Offer guest checkout and an optional account afterward.

Weak product photos

One small image cannot replace holding the product. Several clear angles and a size reference help.

Too many apps

Each one slows the store and adds a thing that can break. I remove what the store does not use.

No tracking past the order

Without step-by-step data, nobody knows where buyers leave, so every fix is a guess.

A checkout never tested on a phone

It works on the owner's laptop and fails in a buyer's hand, where most orders start.

Ecommerce Website Design Examples

How a store changes by what it sells

These describe my approach to each type of store, not past client results.

Ecommerce Website Design Cost

What moves the price

I quote a fixed price for a written scope after I have looked at what you need.

An owner at work in a modern office
  • Number of products, variants and collections
  • Photography and copy that must be produced
  • Shipping rules and tax setup
  • Integrations: inventory, accounting, email
  • Migration from an existing store
  • Accessibility work to a stated WCAG level

Free Ecommerce Website Design

What I do for free

I do not build stores for free, and I would be careful with anyone who does, since the cost reappears in monthly fees, locked accounts or required apps. A free store template can suit a first store or a test, and I can set one up properly if it fits.

What I do for free is look at the store you have or the plan you have. I grade the pages, the speed and the checkout, and I send a written note of the three changes I would make first.

Ecommerce Website Design Near Me

Where I work

I am based in Las Vegas and meet clients across the Valley, at their office or over a call. I also build for merchants elsewhere, since store work happens mostly online. For the wider design process, including what I hand over at each step, see web design in Las Vegas.
