Website Maintenance

Why a working site still needs care

A website that works today will not keep working on its own. Plugins, themes, the platform and the server each receive updates on their own schedule. One update can break a form, a booking tool or the mobile menu. Most owners find out when a customer does.

Maintenance is the scheduled work that keeps that from happening: updates, checks, a backup record and a note of what changed. It is not a redesign, and it does not add pages unless the scope says so.

Website Maintenance Coverage

What the schedule covers

GIOSTAR homepage, a website I built
  • Software and plugin updates, applied in a set order
  • Form and booking tests after each update
  • A backup record and a restore check
  • A review of admin users and who can edit the site
  • A sweep for broken links and error pages
  • Content changes you request, up to the scope

Website Maintenance Cost

What moves the price

I quote a fixed price for a written scope, so the cost you agree to is the number you pay. The scope depends on a few things.

A storefront street in the Valley
  • How many pages, forms and integrations the site carries
  • Which platform it runs on and how many plugins it uses
  • How often the site changes
  • Whether a one-time fix has to come before the schedule
  • How much of the content you want me to edit

Best Website Maintenance Services

How the options compare

Owners choosing among maintenance options usually weigh three routes. All three can keep a site running. They differ in who runs the updates and who checks that the forms still work afterward.
What mattersPlugin-only, done yourselfAgency retainerMe, one designer
Who runs the updatesYou, when you rememberA rotating account teamThe person who built the site
Who tests the formsUsually nobodySometimes, on requestEvery update, every form
What you get in writingNothingA monthly report, format variesA monthly log and a written scope

Website Maintenance Companies

What to ask a maintenance company

Ask who runs the updates, who tests the forms, where the backups are kept and who holds the logins. A company that cannot answer those in writing is selling a monthly invoice, not maintenance. The same questions work when you talk to me, and I answer them in the written scope before you pay.

Website Maintenance Plan or One-Time Fix

Which one the site needs first

A site with a broken form, an old platform or a login nobody can find usually needs a one-time fix before any schedule makes sense. A healthy site needs a schedule, so the next update does not become the first problem. I tell you which one applies after the free read.

Monthly Website Maintenance Log

What the monthly log records

The log is the record you keep if you ever change companies. It goes to you each month and stays with the business, so the history of the site does not depend on the person who wrote it.

GIOSTAR brand hub, a system I built
  • The date of each update and the software it touched
  • Form and booking tests, with the result of each
  • The backup taken and the date of the last restore check
  • Admin users added or removed
  • Errors found and what was done about each one
  • Decisions you need to make before next month

WordPress Website Maintenance Services

WordPress sites need a plugin review

Most WordPress sites I see run more plugins than they need, and each plugin is one more update to track. A WordPress maintenance plan starts with a plugin audit: keep what the site needs, replace what is weak and remove what sits idle. The WordPress page covers that work in detail.

Website Hosting and Maintenance Services

Hosting with the upkeep

Upkeep is easier to run when the hosting account is in your name and the logins are written down. If the business changes hands or moves to another company, the schedule can move with it. The hosting and maintenance page covers how I set both up together.

Work I built and still run

Every build below is real and every link goes to the live work. GIOSTAR is a clinic website in Henderson that I built and run at giostarwellness.com. WebVegas is a full site I designed and built. The other three are brand and content work, and each card says which.

GIOSTAR: the clinic website, booking and lead tracking

I built and run giostarwellness.com for a regenerative medicine and wellness clinic in Henderson: every service page, online booking, financing and a blog. A website lead is tracked end to end, from the form to a booked consult to an active patient, with no manual steps. I also built its live brand hub, so every page, post and print piece pulls the same colours, type and rules.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we ended up working with Justin for some AI consulting on how to structure our operations. He laid out a clear plan, didn't overcomplicate it, and we've been running smoother since. Good fit for a service business. He knows Las Vegas and he knows this stuff.

Justin joined our team a few months before opening to replace a marketing agency that wasn’t performing. He stepped up fast. Within weeks he launched a fully redesigned website with new brand guidelines, built and delivered our marketing plan and AI strategy, and helped implement our system architecture so we could open on time. Since then, he’s made several critical enhancements to the site that helped us generate revenue in our first month. His engagement was supposed to end at opening, but he became such an integral part of our leadership team that we kept him on to help evolve our marketing and tech strategy as we grow. He’s easy to work with, pushes back when it matters, and moves easily between strategy, delivery, and operations depending on what’s needed. If you’re looking for a deeply experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated marketing, AI, or technology consultant, I highly recommend Justin Harris AI Consulting.

From what I've seen, Justin knows the AI automation space better than most people I've come across in Las Vegas. He's the kind of person who actually understands the technical side and can explain it without making you feel lost. Good guy, good reputation.

I've Known Justin for a while now and he really knows his stuff when it comes to AI consulting. If people in Las Vegas were to ask me for recommendations in this space, he's the best guy for the job, hands down.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we reached out to Justin for some AI consulting advice on where our service business could actually use automation. He was straightforward about what made sense and what didn't. Ended up being a useful conversation. Las Vegas has no shortage of people claiming to be experts, and he's one of the few who could back it up.

Known Justin for a few years now. Guy knows the AI space better than most people I've come across, especially here in Las Vegas where there's no shortage of people claiming to be experts. He actually understands how AI automation works at a practical level, not just the theory. The kind of person who gives you a straight answer with kindness and patience

Knew Justin before he started building AI systems for businesses, and watching what he's put together is genuinely impressive. He built out an AI automation setup for my website in Las Vegas and it changed how we handle leads completely. The guy actually runs this stuff himself, so he knows what works.

Website Maintenance Steps

How a maintenance plan starts

  1. Step 01

    Read the site

I check the software, the forms, the host and the admin users, then send a written read.

  2. Step 02

    Agree the schedule

Update days, checks and the monthly note go into one written scope.

  3. Step 03

    Test before each change

Updates are tested on a copy where the host allows one, and forms are sent after each change.

  4. Step 04

    Report the month

The log lists what changed, what was checked and what needs your decision.
