Nobody knows when the site was last checked

Ask a practice owner when their website was last checked for security and most of them pause. The site was built, it went live, and since then the plugins updated themselves or did not, the person with the admin password left, and a form has been sending messages to an inbox nobody reads. Nothing has visibly gone wrong, so nobody has looked.

That is the exposure. A site is usually compromised through something ordinary: an out of date plugin, a reused password, an old admin account for a developer who left, or a form with no spam protection. Attackers run automated tools that look for those, on small sites as readily as large ones.

How Websites Get Hacked

The ordinary ways in

The consequences are concrete. Search engines can flag or drop a site that serves malware. Visitors see a warning page. A contact form can be used to send spam in your name. For a medical, legal or financial practice, a site that exposes visitor details is a bigger problem than an embarrassing page.

What I do if the site is already hacked

If something has already gone wrong, the order matters. I do this first, before I touch anything that could destroy evidence or lose content.

WebVegas homepage, a website I built
  • I take a full copy of the site as it is, so nothing is lost and nothing is guessed
  • I find the entry point, not only the damage, so the same hole is not left open
  • I remove injected code, unknown admin accounts and files that do not belong
  • I change every password and key, including hosting, database and email
  • I request a review if the site has been flagged by search engines or browsers

Work I built, live where you can check it

Every build below is real and every link goes to the live work. Two of the five are full websites I built and still run, including a clinic site where visitors enter personal details into forms. The other three are brand and content work, and each card says which. I do not claim any of them is unbreakable. Nobody honest can.

GIOSTAR: the clinic website, booking and lead tracking

I built and run giostarwellness.com for a regenerative medicine and wellness clinic in Henderson: every service page, online booking, financing and a blog. A website lead is tracked end to end, from the form to a booked consult to an active patient, with no manual steps. I also built its live brand hub, so every page, post and print piece pulls the same colours, type and rules.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we ended up working with Justin for some AI consulting on how to structure our operations. He laid out a clear plan, didn't overcomplicate it, and we've been running smoother since. Good fit for a service business. He knows Las Vegas and he knows this stuff.

Justin joined our team a few months before opening to replace a marketing agency that wasn’t performing. He stepped up fast. Within weeks he launched a fully redesigned website with new brand guidelines, built and delivered our marketing plan and AI strategy, and helped implement our system architecture so we could open on time. Since then, he’s made several critical enhancements to the site that helped us generate revenue in our first month. His engagement was supposed to end at opening, but he became such an integral part of our leadership team that we kept him on to help evolve our marketing and tech strategy as we grow. He’s easy to work with, pushes back when it matters, and moves easily between strategy, delivery, and operations depending on what’s needed. If you’re looking for a deeply experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated marketing, AI, or technology consultant, I highly recommend Justin Harris AI Consulting.

From what I've seen, Justin knows the AI automation space better than most people I've come across in Las Vegas. He's the kind of person who actually understands the technical side and can explain it without making you feel lost. Good guy, good reputation.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we reached out to Justin for some AI consulting advice on where our service business could actually use automation. He was straightforward about what made sense and what didn't. Ended up being a useful conversation. Las Vegas has no shortage of people claiming to be experts, and he's one of the few who could back it up.

Known Justin for a few years now. Guy knows the AI space better than most people I've come across, especially here in Las Vegas where there's no shortage of people claiming to be experts. He actually understands how AI automation works at a practical level, not just the theory. The kind of person who gives you a straight answer with kindness and patience

Knew Justin before he started building AI systems for businesses, and watching what he's put together is genuinely impressive. He built out an AI automation setup for my website in Las Vegas and it changed how we handle leads completely. The guy actually runs this stuff himself, so he knows what works.

Website Security Services in Las Vegas

What the work includes

Most sites need some of the following. I scope only what yours needs.

Security audit

A written read of what is weak: software, accounts, forms, backups and settings. You get it before you pay me anything.

Hardening

I fix what the audit found: update, remove, lock down, and set the protective settings the platform allows.

Backups and recovery

Scheduled backups kept away from the site, and a restore I have actually tried.

Cleanup after a hack

The steps above, with a written note on how the site was entered and what changed.

Ongoing checks

A plain monthly note: what was updated, what alerts fired and what I changed.

Accessibility and rebuilds

When a platform cannot be secured, I tell you, and I can move the site.

How a security review runs

Each step ends with something you can open and read. The rollback point is named before I change anything.

  1. Step 01

    Copy and checkpoint

I take a full backup and record the site as it is. If a fix causes trouble, I return to that point.

  2. Step 02

    Audit

Software, accounts, forms, connection settings and backups, checked by tools and by hand.

  3. Step 03

    Written findings

Every weakness, its risk in plain language and the fix. You approve the fixes before I make them.

  4. Step 04

    Fix and retest

I make the changes and test the site again, including every form.

  5. Step 05

    Hand over and report

You get the findings, the fixes and the logins, and a plain note on what I recommend checking each month.

Website Security Services Cost

What moves the price

I quote a fixed price for a written scope after a free look at the site. A brochure site and a store with customer accounts are different jobs. These are the things that move the number.

An owner at work in a modern office
  • The platform and how many plugins or add-ons it uses
  • Whether the site collects personal details, accounts or payments
  • Whether it is already compromised and needs cleanup
  • How many people and tools have logins
  • Whether you want ongoing monthly checks or a one-time review
  • Whether the platform can be secured or the site has to move

Affordable Website Security Services Las Vegas

What I cannot promise

I cannot promise that a site will never be attacked or that nothing will go wrong. No one can. What I can promise is that the common weaknesses are closed, that you can see what was checked, and that if something does happen you have recent backups and a plan. For the broader work around keeping a site sound, see web design in Las Vegas.

Who this is for

Most of the owners I work with run a practice or a larger service business: a dental office, a law firm, an accounting firm, a clinic.

They have a site that has been live for years, a handful of people with logins, and no clear record of when it was checked. I also see sites that were generated quickly by AI tools and never tested, and I handle those the same way.

If your site is on a platform that cannot be secured well, I will say so and show you what moving would involve, including my page on moving from Wix to WordPress.
