Progressive Web App Development Las Vegas

Do you need an app at all

I do progressive web app development in Las Vegas myself, building for Valley companies and saying in writing when a plain site would do. The code, hosting and logins stay in the owner's name.

Progressive Web App Development

An app store build for a job a web app could do

A progressive web app is a website that behaves like an app. It can be installed from the browser to a phone's home screen, open without the browser frame, keep working with a weak signal and, on many devices, send notifications. There is no app store review and no second codebase for iPhone and Android, because it is one site.

Owners come to me after a different path. A company wanted a way for clients to book, check an order or fill in a form, and an agency proposed native iPhone and Android apps. The quote was large, the review process slow, and two codebases meant two sets of bugs.

Do I Need a Progressive Web App?

When an app is more than the job needs

Months later the app has few downloads, because a client who wants to book a service does not install software to do it. Some jobs do need a native app. Many do not, and a progressive web app is often the smaller, less costly and more checkable answer.

Deciding which is the first piece of work, and I do it in writing before anything is built.

One builder who says when a plain site is enough

I am Justin Harris. I have worked in Las Vegas digital marketing for fourteen years and I build the product myself. I can show you booking and lead flows I built: GIOSTAR is a full site with online booking and lead tracking, and WebVegas has a four-step booking form. Neither is a progressive web app and I will not call them one.

They show how I scope, build and report on flows people use on a phone. You own everything. The code repository, hosting, domain and every login are in your name from day one, and I document how it deploys.

If a plain site would serve you better than an installable one, I say so, even though it means a smaller project for me.

Work I built, live where you can check it

Two of the five builds are full websites I built and still run, both with booking or lead flows used on phones. None is a progressive web app, and I say so. The cards show how I scope, build and report.

GIOSTAR: the clinic website, booking and lead tracking

I built and run giostarwellness.com for a regenerative medicine and wellness clinic in Henderson: every service page, online booking, financing and a blog. A website lead is tracked end to end, from the form to a booked consult to an active patient, with no manual steps. I also built its live brand hub, so every page, post and print piece pulls the same colours, type and rules.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we ended up working with Justin for some AI consulting on how to structure our operations. He laid out a clear plan, didn't overcomplicate it, and we've been running smoother since. Good fit for a service business. He knows Las Vegas and he knows this stuff.

Justin joined our team a few months before opening to replace a marketing agency that wasn’t performing. He stepped up fast. Within weeks he launched a fully redesigned website with new brand guidelines, built and delivered our marketing plan and AI strategy, and helped implement our system architecture so we could open on time. Since then, he’s made several critical enhancements to the site that helped us generate revenue in our first month. His engagement was supposed to end at opening, but he became such an integral part of our leadership team that we kept him on to help evolve our marketing and tech strategy as we grow. He’s easy to work with, pushes back when it matters, and moves easily between strategy, delivery, and operations depending on what’s needed. If you’re looking for a deeply experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated marketing, AI, or technology consultant, I highly recommend Justin Harris AI Consulting.

Knew Justin before he started building AI systems for businesses, and watching what he's put together is genuinely impressive. He built out an AI automation setup for my website in Las Vegas and it changed how we handle leads completely. The guy actually runs this stuff himself, so he knows what works.

Progressive Web App Development Services Las Vegas

What I build as a progressive web app

These are the five jobs I take on.

Booking and intake apps

A client picks a time or fills a long form on a phone, with the data landing in the tool your staff already use.

Client portals

A logged-in area where clients see an order, a document or a status, installable from the browser.

Staff and field tools

Checklists, job forms and photo capture for crews on the road, working when the signal drops.

Turning a site into an installable app

Adding a manifest, a service worker and offline pages to an existing site, with tests on real phones. Larger products are covered under web app development.

Audit of an existing app

Speed, offline behavior, install prompts and notification setup checked and reported with fixes ranked.

What Does a Web App Developer Do?

What a web app developer does

A web app developer builds software that runs in a browser: screens, the logic behind them and the database that stores the information. For a progressive web app the work also covers the installable parts, which are the manifest that describes the app, the service worker that handles offline behavior and caching, and the notification setup where it is supported.

The part owners cannot see is testing. A progressive web app behaves differently on iPhone and on Android, and on a good connection and a bad one. I test on real devices and write down what works where, so nobody finds out at launch that a feature is missing on a particular phone.

Progressive Web App vs Native App

Web app, native app or plain site

This is the decision I put in writing before any build. I give a recommendation and the reason.
Plain websiteProgressive web appNative app
Fits whenInformation and a contact formBooking, portals and tools used often on phonesHeavy device features, games, large audiences expecting the store
InstallingNot neededFrom the browser to the home screenFrom the app store
Code to maintainOne siteOne siteTwo apps, iPhone and Android
LimitsNo offline use, no installFewer device features, some differences on iPhoneStore review and slower updates
Main riskToo thin for the jobExpecting native features that are not thereCost and low downloads

What Big Companies Are Headquartered in Las Vegas?

Who builds apps in the Valley

People ask this because they want to know who else in town builds software. Resort operators such as MGM Resorts, Wynn Resorts and Las Vegas Sands, and companies such as Allegiant Air and Zappos, are headquartered in the Valley, and they run large technology teams. I am not competing with those teams.

The businesses I build for are professional practices and larger service companies that need one working tool and do not have an engineering team. For them, a person who builds and explains it is a better fit than a vendor built to serve a resort group.

How Long Does Progressive Web App Development Take?

How a build runs

Every project runs five steps.

  1. Step 01

    Decide web, native or plain

A written recommendation with the reason.

  2. Step 02

    Agree the scope

Screens, data, integrations and a date on one page.

  3. Step 03

    Design real screens

Clickable screens in a browser that you try on your own phone.

  4. Step 04

    Build and test on devices

Install, offline use and notifications tested on iPhone and Android, with a written device table.

  5. Step 05

    Launch and report

A deploy note, a handover and a monthly report on installs, use and errors.

How Much Does It Cost to Pay Someone to Develop an App?

What moves the price

I quote a fixed price for a written scope, so I do not give a figure here. A single booking tool and a portal with accounts and payments are very different jobs. These factors move the price.

A business owner reviewing work on a phone
  • The number of screens and the logic behind each
  • Accounts, logins and what each kind of user can see
  • Payments, bookings and integrations with other tools
  • Offline behavior, which adds design and testing
  • Notifications, which differ across phones
  • Documentation, training and ongoing support
