Medical Practice SEO

Search Traffic You Can Check

I do medical practice SEO myself, and I track each search visit to the calls, forms and booked appointments it produces. The practice keeps the site, the domain and every login.

Healthcare SEO for Practices

How a practice gets found on search

A patient who searches for care is usually looking for a specific thing: a treatment, a symptom, a doctor they have heard of or a clinic that is open near them. The practice that answers that search with a clear page, an accurate listing and a visible phone number is the one a patient dials. The practice that buries the service under a generic home page does not.

Medical SEO is therefore a set of pages and listings matched to those searches. I start with the questions patients type, then check whether the practice's current site answers them in plain words.

How Patients Search for a Doctor

The searches that bring a new patient

Patients search in four main ways. Each one needs a different page, and a site built for only one of them misses the other three. The table lists the patterns I plan for, with the page each one needs.
Search patternExamplePage it needs
ConditionSymptom or diagnosis plus a cityA condition page with the treatment path
ServiceA named treatment or procedureA service page with what happens in a visit
ProviderA doctor's name or specialtyA provider page with verified credentials
Near meA category with a location wordLocation detail, hours and a map on the listing

SEO Services for Doctors

Pages a doctor's patient reads first

Before a new patient books, they read about the doctor. They want to know training, board certification, the hospitals the doctor works with and what a first visit involves. I build those facts into the provider page exactly as the practice supplies them, and I do not add credentials the practice cannot document.

The same page carries the next step: the booking button, the insurance information the practice accepts and the phone number, shown on the first screen on a phone.

Condition and Service Pages

One page per thing a patient searches for

A condition page explains what the condition is, how it is usually evaluated, what the treatment path looks like and when a patient should call. It does not promise an outcome, and it does not copy the wording of a drug label or a manufacturer's page.

A service page explains what happens at the visit, how long it takes, what to bring and who performs it. Each page links to the provider who offers it and to the booking step, so a patient who lands on it can act without searching again.

Provider Pages That Match Patient Searches

Each doctor's page names what they treat

Patients often search for a doctor by name, or by a treatment the doctor is known for. A provider page that lists the conditions and procedures the doctor treats, in the doctor's own clinical terms, gives search something specific to match.

GIOSTAR homepage, a website I built
  • Full name, title and the specialties the practice confirms
  • Education, residency and board certifications, as documented
  • Conditions and procedures the doctor treats, in plain language
  • Languages spoken and the locations where the doctor sees patients
  • The booking step and the accepted insurance for that doctor

Google Business Profile for Medical Practices

The map listing patients see first

For a local medical search, the map listing often sits above the organic results. The listing has to match the practice's real hours, address, phone number and services. A listing that says one thing while the website says another reads as unreliable to both patients and search.

I set the primary and secondary categories, the services and the photos, and I post updates the practice can stand behind. If the practice has more than one location, each one gets its own listing with its own details.

Reviews for Medical Practices

Reviews handled within the rules

Reviews help a patient decide, and search reads them. I help the practice ask satisfied patients for a review in a way that is allowed on the platform, which means no incentives in exchange for a review and no screening of who gets asked.

Replies matter too. A reply to a review should never confirm that the reviewer was a patient or mention any detail of their care. I write the replies to thank the reviewer and address the concern in general terms, and the practice's compliance rules decide the final wording.

Medical Practice SEO Cost

What moves the price

I quote a fixed price for a written scope after I have looked at the current site, the listings and the number of providers and locations. A single-doctor practice with a clean site and a second one with four locations and an old site are different jobs, so no price list would fit both.

An owner at work in a modern office
  • How many provider and service pages the practice needs written
  • How many locations need their own listing and local pages
  • How much of the current site can be kept and how much is rebuilt
  • Who supplies the clinical facts and how fast they can be approved
  • Reviews and listing management, and how often they are handled
  • Monthly reporting that connects search to booked visits

How Medical Practice SEO Works

How the work runs, step by step

  1. Step 01

    Audit the search presence

I check the site, the listings and the reviews, then send a written read before any scope is signed.

  2. Step 02

    Confirm the clinical facts

The practice approves every credential, service and claim before a page is published.

  3. Step 03

    Write and build the pages

Condition, service and provider pages go live in a batch you can review in a browser.

  4. Step 04

Fix the listings and technical base

The map listing, schema, speed and redirects are checked, and each change is written in the log.

  5. Step 05

    Report what the search produced

A monthly note lists search visits by page, calls, forms and booked visits, with the changes I made.

Medical Practice SEO Reporting

The readout a practice owner can check

The readout is short, and every line can be checked against the practice's own phone system, booking tool and search console. It is built around the questions an owner asks: what did search bring in, which pages did it, and what changed.

GIOSTAR brand hub, a system I built
  • Search visits by page and by search type
  • Calls and form submissions from each page
  • Booked visits matched to the page that produced them, where the booking tool allows
  • Listing views, calls and direction requests from the map
  • Changes made in the month and the reason for each
  • A note on any gap in the data, with no patient information in the report

Medical Advertising and Platform Rules

Marketing limits a practice should know

Healthcare marketing sits under several sets of rules. HIPAA governs patient information, so the tracking must never send health details to an ad platform. Google and Meta limit how health services can be targeted and described in ads, and state medical boards set their own rules on testimonials and before-and-after material.

I plan the pages and tracking around those limits, and I say so in the readout. Whether a claim or a testimonial is allowed is a question for the practice's counsel and compliance lead, and I do not give legal advice.

Work I built, and how close each build is

Every build below is real, and every link goes to the live work. GIOSTAR is the closest work I have: a regenerative medicine and wellness clinic in Henderson whose website I designed, built and still run, with service pages, online booking and lead tracking. It is not a family medicine or specialty office, and I do not claim search results for it. The other builds are brand and content work.

GIOSTAR: the clinic website, booking and lead tracking

I built and run giostarwellness.com for a regenerative medicine and wellness clinic in Henderson: every service page, online booking, financing and a blog. A website lead is tracked end to end, from the form to a booked consult to an active patient, with no manual steps. I also built its live brand hub, so every page, post and print piece pulls the same colours, type and rules.

What clients wrote on Google

Every written review on my Google Business Profile, word for word, including the one that gave four stars. Nothing is picked or paraphrased. Most of them are about AI consulting and automation rather than search, so I do not offer them as medical SEO proof. Also rated five stars by Cyndee M., Angela M., Dan H.. Read them on Google

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we ended up working with Justin for some AI consulting on how to structure our operations. He laid out a clear plan, didn't overcomplicate it, and we've been running smoother since. Good fit for a service business. He knows Las Vegas and he knows this stuff.

Justin joined our team a few months before opening to replace a marketing agency that wasn’t performing. He stepped up fast. Within weeks he launched a fully redesigned website with new brand guidelines, built and delivered our marketing plan and AI strategy, and helped implement our system architecture so we could open on time. Since then, he’s made several critical enhancements to the site that helped us generate revenue in our first month. His engagement was supposed to end at opening, but he became such an integral part of our leadership team that we kept him on to help evolve our marketing and tech strategy as we grow. He’s easy to work with, pushes back when it matters, and moves easily between strategy, delivery, and operations depending on what’s needed. If you’re looking for a deeply experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated marketing, AI, or technology consultant, I highly recommend Justin Harris AI Consulting.
