Real Estate Website Design Templates

Why I start from the agent or brokerage

Most website templates were built for a store or a service firm. A real estate site has a different first job: a buyer or seller on a phone wants to see who the agent is, which neighborhoods they cover and how to ask for a valuation or a showing, all in a few seconds.

I start from that visitor and use a template only for the layout grid and the navigation. The agent pages, the neighborhood pages and the lead forms are designed from the questions clients actually ask.

What a buyer or seller needs from the first screen

A buyer or seller needs three things from the first screen: who the professional is, where they work and what to do next. The name and the photo come first, the areas come next, and the call to action is a single clear step, such as a valuation request or a consultation booking.

The sites that fail usually bury the agent under a generic slider of listings, hide the phone number and ask for a long form before any contact. Those problems are cheap to fix and cost real consultations each month.

Real Estate Website Design Ideas

Pages that earn a valuation request or a showing

A page that earns a request has a reason to exist. A valuation page explains how the value is estimated and what the seller will receive. A buyer page explains the search, the offer and the closing steps. A neighborhood page answers the questions a relocating buyer asks before they call.

A business owner reviewing work on a phone
  • A valuation page with the steps and the questions the agent asks
  • A buyer guide covering the search, the offer and the closing timeline
  • A seller guide covering preparation before a listing goes live
  • Neighborhood pages with sourced facts and a clear route to a tour
  • A moving-into-the-area page for relocating households
  • A consultation page with one form and a clear response time

Real Estate Website Design Company

One designer from first call to launch

Many real estate professionals pay a web company that hands the project to a designer, a developer and an account manager. The person who answers the email about a broken valuation form is often someone who never saw the agent's listings or met a client.

I design, build and answer the email myself. The professional talks to the person writing the pages, and the domain, the hosting and every login stay in the professional's name from the first day.

IDX and Lead Pages That Load Fast

Search pages a visitor can use on a phone

Search pages that pull in listing data can be slow, because the feed and its scripts load before the page is usable. A slow search page loses the visitor before they see a home. I measure the search and lead pages on a mobile connection and control what loads first.

Listing data is set by the MLS and the broker. I connect the feed the professional is allowed to use, and I show the search page in a way the feed's terms permit.

A storefront street in the Valley
  • Search results that show the first listings before the rest load
  • Images sized and compressed for a phone
  • Third-party scripts loaded only where the page needs them
  • A lead form that works without the search results loading first
  • A check on the page's load time after each change

Real Estate Website Design Cost

What moves the price

I quote a fixed price for a written scope after a look at the professional's current site and the pages it needs. A single agent with a clean site and a brokerage with office pages, agent pages and an IDX feed are different jobs.

WebVegas homepage, a website I built
  • How many unique page designs the site needs, more than how many pages it has
  • How many agents, teams and offices need their own pages
  • The search feed and lead tools the site must connect to
  • Who supplies photos, bios and neighborhood content, and how fast
  • Moving the current site without losing the search history it has earned
  • Accessibility work to a stated WCAG level, with a written record

How a Real Estate Site Build Runs

How a build runs, step by step

  1. Step 01

    Grade the current site

I check the speed, the lead forms and the search pages, then send a written read before anything is signed.

  2. Step 02

Agree the pages and the feeds

Pages, forms, search connections and the content sources are listed on one page, and the professional approves each one.

  3. Step 03

    Design the key pages

The professional reviews real pages in a browser on a phone and a laptop, and marks changes on them.

  4. Step 04

    Build, connect and test

Every lead form is sent from a phone and a laptop, and each one is checked to reach the right inbox.

  5. Step 05

    Launch and report

Redirects keep the old addresses working, and a monthly note lists which pages produced leads and consultations.

Lead Forms That Reach the Right Inbox

Where a lead goes after the form

A lead form that sends to the wrong inbox loses the lead as surely as a broken form does. I set each form to route to the right agent or the right team, send a copy to the professional's CRM and send an alert if the message fails.

Each form records the page it came from and the search type, so the readout can tie a consultation to the page that produced it.

Meeting in person across the Valley

I work from Las Vegas. Many real estate clients are outside the Valley, so most of the work runs over calls and a shared project page, with each page reviewed in a browser. When a professional in the Valley wants to sit down, I meet them at their office, and the scope is written before the first meeting.

Accessible and Fair Copy on a Listing Site

Copy rules for neighborhood and listing pages

Neighborhood copy must describe the homes, services and amenities in an area, and must never describe who lives there or who should live there. That is a Fair Housing rule as well as good writing. The site is also tested for color contrast, labels and keyboard use to WCAG 2.2 AA before launch.

These are marketing considerations. The professional's broker and counsel decide the final wording of any page that goes out under a license.

Work I built, and how close each build is

No build here is a real estate site, so I do not claim real estate results for any of them. WebVegas is my own Las Vegas web design brand, a full website with a four-step booking form that hands each lead a walkthrough, and it is the closest in structure. GIOSTAR is a Henderson clinic whose website I built and still run. The other three are brand and content work, and each card says which.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we ended up working with Justin for some AI consulting on how to structure our operations. He laid out a clear plan, didn't overcomplicate it, and we've been running smoother since. Good fit for a service business. He knows Las Vegas and he knows this stuff.

Justin joined our team a few months before opening to replace a marketing agency that wasn’t performing. He stepped up fast. Within weeks he launched a fully redesigned website with new brand guidelines, built and delivered our marketing plan and AI strategy, and helped implement our system architecture so we could open on time. Since then, he’s made several critical enhancements to the site that helped us generate revenue in our first month. His engagement was supposed to end at opening, but he became such an integral part of our leadership team that we kept him on to help evolve our marketing and tech strategy as we grow. He’s easy to work with, pushes back when it matters, and moves easily between strategy, delivery, and operations depending on what’s needed. If you’re looking for a deeply experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated marketing, AI, or technology consultant, I highly recommend Justin Harris AI Consulting.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we reached out to Justin for some AI consulting advice on where our service business could actually use automation. He was straightforward about what made sense and what didn't. Ended up being a useful conversation.
