Medical Practice Website Design

A Practice Site Built for Booking

I do medical practice website design myself, with booking, forms and patient pathways tested before launch. The practice keeps the domain, the hosting and every login.

Medical Website Design Templates

Why a practice site starts from patients

Most website templates were built for a store or a restaurant. A practice site has a different first job: a patient on a phone wants to know whether the practice treats their problem, whether it takes their insurance and how to book, all in the first few seconds.

I start from the patient's path and use a template only for the layout grid and the navigation. The service pages, the provider pages and the booking route are designed from the questions patients ask at the front desk.

Medical Clinic Website Pages

The pages a new patient needs

A clinic site is a set of short pages a patient reads in order, and each one has to answer a single question. The list below is the set I plan for most practices, adjusted to the services the practice actually offers.

An owner at work in a modern office
  • A homepage with the phone number, the address and the booking step
  • A new patient page covering the first visit and the forms
  • Insurance information, showing what the practice accepts and how to check
  • A services list, with one page for each treatment the practice performs
  • Provider pages with verified credentials and their booking route
  • Location, parking and hours, with a map the phone can open

Healthcare Website Design Standards

What the site must do on day one

Before a practice site goes live, it has to load quickly on a cell signal, show the phone number without scrolling, and send every form to the right inbox. It also has to say plainly what the practice does and where it is.

Those are standards, not extras. A site that fails any of them loses patients who would otherwise call, and the owner usually does not find out until a front desk notices fewer calls.

Patient Portal and Appointment Pathways

How a patient gets from search to a visit

A booking route has several steps, and each one can lose a patient. The table shows the steps I test and what each page does at that point.
StepWhat the page does
Search lands on a service pageStates the treatment, the visit and the booking step
Patient checks the providerShows credentials and the clinician's booking route
Patient books online or callsKeeps the booking button and phone number visible
Patient completes intakeUses secure forms that work on a phone

Best Medical Websites 2026

What the strongest practice sites do

The practice sites that work share a few habits. The phone number and the booking button are in the first screen. Each service has its own page. The provider's credentials are written out, not implied. The forms ask only for what the front desk needs.

None of this is new, and most practices already know it. The gap is usually in execution: a service page that was never updated, a form that sends to an old address, or a booking link that opens a page the phone cannot read.

Medical Website Design Company

Who builds the site and who answers after

Many practices hire a web company that hands the project to a designer, then to a developer, then to an account manager. By launch, nobody on the team has read the practice's services list closely, and the person who answers a question about a broken form was not in the room.

I design, build and answer the email myself. The practice talks to the person who writes the pages, and the domain, hosting and every login stay in the practice's name from the first day.

Medical Website Accessibility

Forms and contrast tested before launch

Patients use screen readers, large text and keyboards, and many older patients use a phone with a small screen. A practice site should work for all of them. I test color contrast, form labels, focus order and alt text against WCAG 2.2 AA before launch, and I write down anything still open.

Medical Website Design Cost

What moves the price

I quote a fixed price for a written scope after a look at the current site and the services the practice offers. A single-provider site with a booking link is a different job from a multi-location clinic with intake forms and a patient portal, so no price list would fit both.

WebVegas homepage, a website I built
  • How many unique page designs the site needs, more than how many pages it has
  • How many providers and locations need their own pages
  • Booking, intake or portal integrations with the practice's current tools
  • Who supplies photos, clinical copy and approvals, and how fast
  • Moving the current site without losing the search history it has earned
  • Accessibility work to a stated WCAG level, with a written record

How a Practice Website Build Runs

How a build runs, step by step

  1. Step 01

    Look at the current site

I grade the site, the booking route and the listing, then send a written read before anything is signed.

  2. Step 02

Agree the scope and the facts

Pages, integrations and the clinical facts are listed on one page, and the practice approves each one.

  3. Step 03

    Design the key pages

The practice reviews real pages in a browser and marks changes on them, not on static mockups.

  4. Step 04

    Build, connect and test

Forms, booking and the phone links are tested on a phone and a laptop before launch.

  5. Step 05

    Launch and report

Redirects keep the old addresses working, and a monthly note lists which pages produced calls and booked visits.

Medical Website Tracking

Visits tied to booked appointments

A practice should be able to see which page produced a call or a booked visit. I set up that tracking with events on the phone links, the booking button and the form submissions. The events carry the page and the campaign, never a patient's name, health detail or appointment reason.

What the analytics vendor may receive is a question for the practice's counsel and privacy officer. I set the tracking to the minimum the readout needs, and I write down what it sends.

Work I built, and how close each build is

Every build below is real, and every link goes to the live work. GIOSTAR is the closest: a regenerative medicine and wellness clinic in Henderson whose website I designed, built and still run, with service pages, online booking, financing information and a blog. It is not a family medicine or specialty practice. WebVegas is my own web design brand with a booking funnel. The rest are brand and content work.

GIOSTAR: the clinic website, booking and lead tracking

I built and run giostarwellness.com for a regenerative medicine and wellness clinic in Henderson: every service page, online booking, financing and a blog. A website lead is tracked end to end, from the form to a booked consult to an active patient, with no manual steps. I also built its live brand hub, so every page, post and print piece pulls the same colours, type and rules.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we ended up working with Justin for some AI consulting on how to structure our operations. He laid out a clear plan, didn't overcomplicate it, and we've been running smoother since. Good fit for a service business. He knows Las Vegas and he knows this stuff.

Justin joined our team a few months before opening to replace a marketing agency that wasn’t performing. He stepped up fast. Within weeks he launched a fully redesigned website with new brand guidelines, built and delivered our marketing plan and AI strategy, and helped implement our system architecture so we could open on time. Since then, he’s made several critical enhancements to the site that helped us generate revenue in our first month. His engagement was supposed to end at opening, but he became such an integral part of our leadership team that we kept him on to help evolve our marketing and tech strategy as we grow. He’s easy to work with, pushes back when it matters, and moves easily between strategy, delivery, and operations depending on what’s needed. If you’re looking for a deeply experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated marketing, AI, or technology consultant, I highly recommend Justin Harris AI Consulting.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we reached out to Justin for some AI consulting advice on where our service business could actually use automation. He was straightforward about what made sense and what didn't. Ended up being a useful conversation. Las Vegas has no shortage of people claiming to be experts, and he's one of the few who could back it up.

Knew Justin before he started building AI systems for businesses, and watching what he's put together is genuinely impressive. He built out an AI automation setup for my website in Las Vegas and it changed how we handle leads completely. The guy actually runs this stuff himself, so he knows what works.
