Node JS Development Company

A Node Backend You Can See Into

As a Node js development company of one, I build and repair Node.js services myself, and I set up the logging so you can check what the service did and when it failed. You own the repository, the servers and every login.

Node JS Backend Development

A Node service that works until it is busy

A founder or CTO usually calls about Node after the same afternoon. The service ran fine in testing and through the first customers. Then a busy day arrived, requests started timing out, and the only record of what happened was a server that had restarted itself. Nobody could say whether it was the database, one slow endpoint or a memory leak.

Node.js is fast at handling many connections at once, which is why it is popular. It is also easy to write a service that works and cannot be observed. The developer shipped features, but nothing was written down about how the service behaves when something upstream is slow, and there is no log you can read without an engineer.

The fear on the buyer's side is that of a stranger holding your money and your production system. I answer it with ownership and visibility. The repository and servers are in your name, and the service reports on itself in a form you can open.

Nodejs Development

What Node is, and what it is not

Node.js lets you write server code in JavaScript. Is NodeJS built on C++? Its core is written in C++ and JavaScript, and it runs on V8, the JavaScript engine from Chrome, which is itself C++. Who is the developer of NodeJS? Ryan Dahl created it in 2009. Who is the vendor for NodeJS? There is none. It is open source and now stewarded by the OpenJS Foundation, which means you are not buying a license from anyone.

Is NodeJS legitimate? Yes. Netflix has publicly written about using Node in parts of its stack, and NASA has described using it as well. A name on a case study does not make it right for your system, so I check the fit against what the service has to do.

Work I built, live where you can check it

I have no Node-only client to show you and I will not invent one. These are the real builds: two full websites I built and run, including a lead tracked from form to booked consult, and three brand and content projects, each card saying which.

GIOSTAR: the clinic website, booking and lead tracking

I built and run giostarwellness.com for a regenerative medicine and wellness clinic in Henderson: every service page, online booking, financing and a blog. A website lead is tracked end to end, from the form to a booked consult to an active patient, with no manual steps. I also built its live brand hub, so every page, post and print piece pulls the same colours, type and rules.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we ended up working with Justin for some AI consulting on how to structure our operations. He laid out a clear plan, didn't overcomplicate it, and we've been running smoother since. Good fit for a service business. He knows Las Vegas and he knows this stuff.

Justin joined our team a few months before opening to replace a marketing agency that wasn’t performing. He stepped up fast. Within weeks he launched a fully redesigned website with new brand guidelines, built and delivered our marketing plan and AI strategy, and helped implement our system architecture so we could open on time. Since then, he’s made several critical enhancements to the site that helped us generate revenue in our first month. His engagement was supposed to end at opening, but he became such an integral part of our leadership team that we kept him on to help evolve our marketing and tech strategy as we grow. He’s easy to work with, pushes back when it matters, and moves easily between strategy, delivery, and operations depending on what’s needed. If you’re looking for a deeply experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated marketing, AI, or technology consultant, I highly recommend Justin Harris AI Consulting.

After going back and forth on whether to bring in outside help, we reached out to Justin for some AI consulting advice on where our service business could actually use automation. He was straightforward about what made sense and what didn't. Ended up being a useful conversation. Las Vegas has no shortage of people claiming to be experts, and he's one of the few who could back it up.

Knew Justin before he started building AI systems for businesses, and watching what he's put together is genuinely impressive. He built out an AI automation setup for my website in Las Vegas and it changed how we handle leads completely. The guy actually runs this stuff himself, so he knows what works.

Node JS Reliability and Logging

The reliability and logging I set up

This is the part most Node projects skip, and the part that tells you whether the money did anything. Before launch I put these in place and show them to you.

GIOSTAR homepage, a website I built
  • Structured logs, one line per request, searchable without an engineer
  • An alert when the error rate or response time crosses a written limit
  • Health checks and an automatic restart that is logged, not silent
  • A load test against the busiest day you expect
  • Limits on how fast any one client may call the service
  • Backups of the data, with a restore tried once and recorded

How Secure Is a Node JS Service

Is Node a security risk

Node itself is not the risk. The risk is the packages a service pulls in, because a typical project depends on hundreds of small libraries written by strangers, and a flaw in any one of them is a flaw in your service. Poorly written code is the other risk, and that is true in every language.

I keep the list of dependencies short, run an automated vulnerability check on every release, keep secrets out of the code and review who can reach the servers. The result is a one-page security note you can show an insurer or a client.

Node JS Hosting and Deployment

Where a Node service runs

A Node service needs a server that stays on, which makes hosting a real decision. I put it on a managed platform or a small server in your own account, never mine, and I write down what it costs each month before anything is bought.

Deploys run from the repository, so releasing a change is one command and rolling it back is another. The environment settings, such as database addresses and keys, live in a protected store listed in the run-book. If the person who set it up leaves, the next developer finds everything in one document.

TypeScript on Node JS

Why I write Node in TypeScript

TypeScript is JavaScript with the types written down. In a service, that means a function that expects a client record cannot quietly receive a bad one, and a whole class of errors is caught before the code runs.

For you it means the next developer can read what each part expects without running it. It also makes later changes safer, which matters when the service is busy and a mistake costs orders. I use it on every new Node service unless the existing code makes it impractical, and the scope states which.

Node JS Databases and Queues

Where the data lives

A Node service is only as dependable as the database behind it. I pick a relational database for most business data, because the rules about who owns what stay enforced, and I add a queue when work such as sending email should happen in the background instead of making a visitor wait.

Both are set up with backups and a restore that has been tried once. The run-book lists what each holds and who can reach it, so access is a decision someone made, not an accident of the first week.

Node JS Compared With Python

Node versus Python and Laravel

Is NodeJS harder than Python? Neither is harder in a way a buyer would notice. Python is often easier to read for data work. Node is a strong fit when one team writes the front end and back end in the same language and the service handles many connections. I use Python for data and automation, covered on my Python page, and I would suggest Laravel for a business application built on a relational database.

Can I learn NodeJS in 2 days? You can write a first script in an afternoon. Running a service that stays up under load takes much longer, which is the gap I am paid to cover.

Does NodeJS have a future? It is actively maintained with long-term-support releases on a schedule, so yes.

Node JS Development Company Process

How a Node project runs

Every project follows the same steps, each ending with something you can open.

  1. Step 01

    Read what exists

For an inherited service I read the code and the logs from the last busy day. You receive a written list of findings.

  2. Step 02

    Agree the scope in writing

Endpoints, integrations, expected load and the reliability limits on one page.

  3. Step 03

Build and test route by route

Each route has an automated test. A private address lets you try it as it grows.

  4. Step 04

Load test and set up alerts

I run a test against your expected busiest day and wire the alerts to your email or phone.

  5. Step 05

    Launch and hand over

Servers and repository are already yours. You receive the guide and the run-book.

  6. Step 06

    How remote work runs

A weekly call, a shared tracker and a recorded demo with each release. I work from Las Vegas and the clients are across the country.

Node JS Development Company Cost

What moves the price

People searching for how much a Node JS development company costs, an affordable one or its pricing want a number. I quote a fixed price for a written scope after reading what you have, so the number you agree is the number you pay. A list would be wrong for a small API and a real-time platform alike.
